Effects of Using Instagram on Iranian Intermediate Autonomous/Dependent EFL Learners’ Learning of Pictorial Metaphors

This study was an attempt to investigate whether using Instagram had any significant effects on Iranian intermediate autonomous/dependent EFL learners’ pictorial metaphors or not. In doing so, Oxford Placement Test administered among100 learners studying at Rooyesh language institute in Kelishad, Isfahan, Iran; and based the results, 80 were selected. Then, autonomy test conducted divide them into autonomous dependent groups. next step, they divided two equal experimental control groups (N=40) that each group subdivided a (i.e., 20 participants CG EG). Their age ranged between 14 18 years old. Gender of not considered as variable study. Next, metaphorical expression pretest all then given expressions via application, whereas only followed conventional treatment. At end, posttest L2 both finally data analyzed. Analyzing through one-way repeated measures ANOVA ANCOVA revealed utilizing application positively effect learning. Furthermore, students positive attitude toward Application.
